Factors that Influence Transitions
- Current skill set combined with impairments the student has resulting from the TBI.
- Demands and expectations of specific situations.
- Level of understanding and responsiveness to the student’s behavior.
- Quality of treatment services provided to student and family prior to the transition and the expectation of service after the transition.
- Readiness, preparation and motivation by the student and family.
- Length of time since the injury.
- Extent to which the student and family have to make or influence decisions made around transitions.
